Background
Uthabiti Africa Advisory Services Limited (herein referred to as Uthabiti Africa) is a social enterprise established in 2019 to accelerate the growth of the childcare market in Africa. After 4 years of Programme delivery, we are now setting up our Consultancy and Advisory arm to support the growth of the non-profit sector.
Our social enterprise strategy sits alongside our organizational strategy for the period 2023-2030 which sees the organization expanding its childcare ecosystem-building work in Kenya but also to other selected countries in Africa, starting with Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Malawi.
Our Consultancy and Advisory services enable us to utilize the professional networks we have in Africa and beyond to enable us to provide services that support civil society Organisations (CSOs), governments, funders, and corporates to make their vision a reality while also exploring investments in the childcare ecosystem. We will support institutions to connect better to each other and to resources, unlocking opportunities for growth, contributing to the continent’s human development growth as well as improvements in the socio-economic status of communities. Effective organizations can play a greater role in building a fairer and more inclusive economy in order to deliver quality, affordable childcare.
Call for Consultants
We are recruiting a broad range of consultants, initially from across Africa, able to undertake the following fields of expertise:
- Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA)
- Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)
- Organizational Development (Strategic Planning Change Management, Organizational Management)
- Science of Early Childhood Development
- Early Childhood Care, Education, and Development (ECCED)
- Research (Childcare, ECD, Maternal and Child Health, etc)
- Legal, Policy and Regulatory Reforms on childcare
- Safeguarding Vulnerable Children and Adults
- Protection for Vulnerable Children and Adults
- Program and Project Management
- Human Resources Management
- Financial Management and Audit
- Project Performance Management
- Gender, Equity, and Diversity (GED)
Required skills and experience
- Over 5 years of solid Consultancy and advisory experience, particularly in Eastern, Southern, and West Africa.
- BA, MA, or PhD in the respective area(s) of expertise
- 10 to 15years of demonstrated experience in the area(s) Expertise
- Experience in organizational management particularly in government, non-governmental organizations, social enterprises, or the private sector.

Duty Station: The applicants shortlisted for the Consultant Roster may be required to work remotely/home-based depending on program needs.
